This course will help you prepare to pass the CompTIA Security+ certification exam. In this class you will implement information security, project management, and Agile and Scrum methodologies across a variety of different contexts.
Some of the topic areas covered include:
- Analyzing risk
- Identifying various threats to information security
- Implementing cryptographic solutions in the organization
- Addressing security incidents
- Ensuring the continuity of business operations in the event of an incident
Prerequisites:
To succeed in this class, applicants should have:
- Combined previous technical training and/or experience at a level equivalent to a CompTIA A+ and/or Network+ certification or above
- Previous experience in the corporate/business world
- Ability to commit to 10 hours of instruction each week, along with the necessary hours for accompanying homework and industry engagement
- Desire to grow solid professional skills around communication, team building, critical thinking and problem solving
- Commitment to take the CompTIA Security+ exam during or at the conclusion of the class
- Passion about actively engaging in the cybersecurity community.
Expected time commitment:
10 hours/week for 16 weeks (holiday weeks excluded) = 160 hours
